The “Beijing Five†emission standard has already been implemented in Beijing, and the new “Beijing Five†emission standard limits the emission of particulate matter in tail gas. The amount, which also puts forward higher requirements for the exhaust gas treatment system, also makes more and more diesel engines equipped with closed (wall flow) diesel particulate filters.
The particulate filter can remove sorped soot by regeneration. One method is to periodically regenerate the filter in order to burn off the stored particulate matter. To do this, it is required to heat the particulate matter to about 600 degrees Celsius. Need a filter. This high exhaust temperature can be measured by the internal engine alone. However, this will dilute the engine oil and reduce the oil change interval.
In addition, the targeted injection of diesel fuel into the exhaust gas by eliminating the particulate system can help a substantial reduction, even without the need for internal engine measurements. This step improves the efficiency of regeneration and therefore saves fuel.
Since 2006, Bosch's first-generation particle elimination system has succeeded in series production. On this basis, in February 2010, Bosch has started producing second generation products for several well-known customers.

The increased functionality of Bosch II's systems is primarily the spray droplet size, fuel pressure conditions and comprehensive software support. Diesel oil is fed to the metering device through the flexible inlet line of the low pressure pipe. Shut-off valve controls diesel transmission. During regeneration of the particulate filter, the valve is in the open position so that the titration valve in the dosing device can input the required amount of diesel fuel for the injection device.

The integrated software in the control unit calculates the required titration quantity based on several signals (eg engine load, metering device pressure) and converts it into a trigger signal for the titration valve. The particulate filter does not perform regeneration in a continuous mode, but only on demand. This requires special measures to be taken during the regeneration phase to prevent the accumulation of soot in the injection valve installed on the exhaust pipe. Therefore, the ejector valve of the particle elimination system has a needle protruding outward. This reliable and durable design has been validated in the first generation of systems.
