Cummins Launches 5.0L V8 Engine

A few days ago, Cummins announced the launch of a 5-liter V8 diesel engine designed specifically for pickup trucks and mid-light trucks.

The Columbia plant, which is responsible for producing the ISV 5.0 engine, is ready for the start of next year. Testing of the engine has started and test vehicles have begun to recruit.

Dave Crompton, vice president and general manager of Cummins, said: “A lot of customers have sought to replace gasoline or small displacement diesel engines. The compact and compact Cummins ISV5.0 engine provides OEM customers with the best fuel economy and cost-effectiveness. As we continue to expand and update the product line, ISV5.0 will become a new benchmark for good fuel economy and performance."

Cummins tried for the first time on the ISV 5.0 to use a compression graphite cast iron block that can reduce weight and reduce engine noise. In addition, the use of aluminum materials further reduces weight and improves efficiency.

The engine uses a Bosch high-pressure common-rail fuel system. Piezoelectric fuel injectors can precisely control the fuel and fully burn in the cylinder. There are four horsepower ratings (200, 220, 250, and 275 horsepower) to choose from, with 560 pound-feet of torque.
