On June 27th, with the help of an internally developed valve leak detector, the localization project team of the Pipeline Science and Technology Research Center conducted the first test of the internal leakage of the 40-inch ball valve in the natural gas station. The test results show that the self-developed valve inner leakage detector is relatively quick and accurate to determine the inner leakage of large-diameter natural gas ball valves.
All-welded large-diameter ball valves are mainly used for long-distance oil and gas pipelines, entrance and exit stations, and receiving and dispatching of ball and other important parts. Once a failure occurs, it will have a great impact on the safe operation of the oil and gas station. The internal leakage is always in the process of the pipeline valve operation. Expose the most prominent problems. The traditional internal leakage detection of the valve is mainly determined by manual observation of the valve pressure or the determination of the internal leakage of the valve in the cavity, which cannot be quantitatively detected and the timeliness is poor.
With the help of the localization of key equipment for oil and gas pipelines, the Pipeline Science and Technology Research Center successfully developed an internal valve leakage detector that can detect the lower limit of valve leakage of 0.04 cubic meters per hour. It not only expanded the maximum valve size for endoleurance testing from 20 inches to 40 inches for the first time, but also extended the detection of valve inner leakage from a single ball valve to areas such as forced-seal valves, plug valves, etc., enabling customization of valve leakage detection. And specialization provides good technical support for the daily maintenance of the station maintenance staff.
