Recently, the first ± 800 kV HVDC converter transformer made by Siemens in China successfully passed the factory test.
This Taiwan HVDC converter transformer is one of two converter transformers provided by Guangzhou Siemens Transformer Co., Ltd. for the Hami-Zhengzhou ± 800kV HVDC transmission line. Ha Zheng UHV DC transmission and electrical drive the country "west to east" priority projects, is connected to the western frontier and the Central Plains "Electricity Silk Road", but also "Xinjiang electricity outside the restaurant" s first line of the project. The line, with a total length of 2210 kilometers and a transmission capacity of 8 million kilowatts, is estimated to deliver about 48 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually to the central China region upon completion, reducing emissions of 317,000 tons of sulfur dioxide and 267,000 tons of nitrogen oxides.

Guangzhou Siemens Transformer Co., Ltd. HVDC converter transformer plant was completed in June 2011, Siemens is the only HVDC converter transformer in China production base. The workshop and Siemens headquarters in Germany share a unified design platform and technical standards.
