French auto parts integration system and module supplier Valeo recently signed a cooperation agreement with Ibeo of Germany. Both parties will cooperate in the field of laser scanning technology.
After the cooperation between the two parties, Valeo will be able to obtain Ibeo's laser scanning technology and improve the technology for large-scale application in automotive smart driving systems. The laser scanning technology will supplement the radar, ultrasound, infrared and visual sensing systems that Valeo owns.
Over the past 10 years, Ibeo has supplied advanced sensors to many car companies and provided sensors to numerous research projects, including the U.S. defense research project.
Valeo and Ibeo will collaborate on the development of laser scanning products. Valeo is responsible for applying these products to smart driving systems and selling them to car companies to improve driving safety and comfort.
