Wärtsilä receives orders for 4 container ships
On December 9th, Wärtsilä will supply the Wärtsilä X92 mainframe for four series of post-Panamax 9000TEU container ships, the ship owner is the Ciner Group of Istanbul, Turkey. The order also includes the preferred option for the same equipment on the fifth vessel.
It is reported that each ship will be powered by an 8-cylinder Wärtsilä X92 engine, which will be built by Hanjin Heavy Industries' shipyard in Subic Bay, Philippines.
Wärtsilä’s contract was signed on December 9th by Vinci Shipping Industry & Trading Inc. CEO Vassilis Papakalodoukas and Wärtsilä Switzerland General Manager and Wärtsilä Marine Power Two-stroke Vice President Martin Wernli at the Ciner Group Office .
The selection of the Wärtsilä X92 engine is based on the machine's high efficiency and environmental performance. This electronically controlled common rail engine can achieve fuel consumption savings through unique fuel flexible injection and exhaust valve operation, with smokeless operation and control of pollution emissions.
