Cylinder casting process analysis

The foundry of Nanjing Auto-Mixing Factory (Nanjing Automobile Factory) was originally a foundry of the unit where the troops belonged. Subsequent teams of melting, core making, molding and copper parts are used to produce component blanks for the repair of ordnance and auto parts such as pistons, piston rings, and bearing bushes. In 1951, the factory cooperated with Beijing Auto Parts Factory No.5 to produce a Jinggangshan brand treadmill; in 1953, it began to produce automobile engine parts such as cylinder heads and cylinder liners. The equipment used was a melting rate cupola, sand mixer, and centrifugal casting. Machines, copper furnaces, hand-pulled cranes and other simple equipment; in 1956, the plant began trial production of the M20 engine.

To cast a thin-walled cylinder block casting, a five-box manual assembly mold casting process was used under the prevailing conditions. By adopting the vertical casting technology, casting defects such as shrinkage holes, blowholes and slag inclusions were solved, and the production capacity of 20 cylinder block castings was formed. The application of nodular cast iron in China began in the early 1950s. Nanjing Automobile Manufacturing Factory foundry workshop, based on the promotion of the application of dense-baked cast iron, the use of magnesium silicate or copper-magnesium alloy as a nodular agent trial production of nodular iron castings, began to use China's automotive casting parts of ductile iron precedent. At that time, the spheroidizing alloy was put in the iron trough of the cupola, and was poured into the hot metal ladle with the flow to achieve the purpose of spheroidizing the molten iron.

Casting of the castings are cylinder liners and fixtures; in 1955, the factory also produced a ductile iron crankshaft, out of China's "iron to steel, to die forging," a new way to produce automotive crankshaft. The foundry of the China Casting Machine Nanjing Automobile Manufacturing Plant was the first automobile foundry factory to rely on self-reliance in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Its completion marked the beginning and beginning of China's automotive foundry production and technology.
