Metalsa Acquires Dana Automotive Structure Products Business


Dow Jones reported that US auto parts maker Dana (Dana Holding Corp.) recently said it would pay $ 150 million to sell the company's automotive structural products business to Metalsa.

Metalsa is part of the Proeza Group (Grupo Proeza) and is the largest small truck and car chassis manufacturer in Latin America. After the completion of the acquisition, Metalsa will take over Dana's 10 manufacturing plants for automotive chassis and body structure components, as well as the management, technology and sales centers of Dana's automotive structural products business. The 10 factories are located in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, the United States and Venezuela.

In addition, Dana will transfer its shares in Chassis Systems Limited to Metalsa. Chassis Systems Ltd., located in the United Kingdom, is a joint venture between Dana and GKN Auto Structures.

In 2008, the total revenue of Dana 's 10 factories and Chassis Systems Ltd. company sold this time was $695 million.
