In the course of the research, by introducing large-sized organic amines, a series of two-dimensional multilayer hybrid perovskite ferroelectrics have been successfully designed and synthesized, and have shown excellent optoelectronic properties. However, most of these ferroelectrics contain high concentrations of toxic lead that can threaten the human body and biological systems, limiting their further applications. There is an urgent need to research and develop new lead-free hybrid perovskite ferroelectric semiconductors. This is the focus of this research.
In addition, considering the strict restrictions of the perovskite structure, Sn is a promising candidate material to replace Pb, which can meet the conditions of structural coordination, charge balance, and environmental friendliness. It was found that the distortion of the inorganic octahedron and the ordering of the organic cations in the compound induced the spontaneous polarization of the compound. The compound exhibited a Curie temperature above room temperature (318 K) and a spontaneous pole of 11.76 μC cm–2. Into. Sn-based hybrid perovskite ferroelectrics are not only lead-free, but are also expected to provide semiconductor characteristics and ferroelectric coupling to produce unique optoelectronic properties.
