Prevention measures for landslides in dump pits of open pit mines

The open pit mining process is divided into four operations: piercing, blasting, shovel loading and dumping. Dumping operations are the last step in the open pit mining process, but the safety of dumping operations is also very important in open pit mining. In the mining design, the district mining and internal dumping schemes are adopted. In different sections or different parts of the division, the inner working line tends to advance along the rock formation. After open-pit mining to a certain period of time, there will be a secondary stripping slope between the sections. The secondary peeling slope has a large inclination angle and is located on the inclined base, and the stability condition is poor. Moreover, the abandoned open-air coal mine rock is relatively soft, easily weathered; Inner Dump displacement tall, there are secondary stripping slope. For the stability of such dumps, there is no domestic experience. Therefore, the safety of open pit mine excavation engineering mainly considers the following aspects:

First, the choice of dump

(1) The dumping site should be selected to ensure less land occupation in the hillside wasteland.

(2) After the location of the dump site is selected, special engineering and hydrogeological exploration should be carried out to carry out topographic mapping and analysis and determination of soil discharge parameters.

(3) The parameters such as the stage height of the dumping site, the total stacking height, the width of the safety platform, the total slope angle, and the advanced stacking height of the adjacent stage operations shall meet the specified requirements in the design.

Second, the dump site should have sufficient safety distance from the open pit, that is, the dump site should be built outside the final boundary of open pit mining. However, under the premise of not hindering the development of mine production and the stability of the slope of the stope, the dumping site can be as close as possible to the final boundary of the open pit, which is beneficial to achieve close-distance dumping.

Third, the operation safety management of the dump

(1) When the vehicle is dumped, there shall be a special person command, and non-workers shall not enter the dumping operation area. All personnel, vehicles and construction machinery entering the operation area must obey the command of the commander.

(2) The dumping platform must be leveled, and the dumping line should be balanced and promoted as a whole. The top line of the slope should be linear or curved, and the dumping work should face 3% to 5% of the slope in the direction of the top line.

(3) The safety gear should be set at the edge of the earth unloading platform, the height of which is not less than 2/5 of the diameter of the tire, and the width of the top and bottom of the gear should be not less than 1/3 and 1.3 times of the diameter of the tire;

(4) Soil and rock should be discarded in the prescribed order. When unloading and dozing work in the same location, sufficient safety distance must be maintained between the equipment.

(5) When pushing the soil, the bulldozer is strictly prohibited to push the soil along the top line of the parallel slope at the edge of the dump.

(6) When the dumping safety block or reverse slope does not meet the requirements, and there is a large area crack or uneven sinking within 30 meters of the inner side of the top line, it is forbidden to enter the dangerous area, and the dumping staff must discharge the soil. The field is dealt with in a timely manner.

(7) When the driver's line of sight is less than 30 meters due to fog, dust, lighting and other factors, or when there is heavy weather such as heavy rain, heavy snow, strong wind, etc., the earthwork should be stopped.

(8) The lighting in the earth-cutting operation area must be intact. The distance between the lighthouse and the earth-moving retaining wall is 15 to 25 meters. The lighting angle must meet the requirements. No lighting at night is prohibited.

4. Drainage in the dump

(1) Reconstructed flood interception and drainage facilities should be built around the hillside dumping site to intercept the slope water supply.

(2) The platform in the dumping site should implement 2% to 3% of anti-slope, and build a drainage ditch on the surface of the dumping platform to intercept the surface of the platform.

(3) When there is a water outlet point within the dump site, measures must be taken to drain the water before dumping. The bottom of the dump should be separated from large rocks and form seepage channels.

(4) Before the flood season, the following measures should be taken to prevent floods: a. Defining the flood prevention safety production responsibility system and establishing an emergency plan; b. Dredging the dumping trench inside and outside the dumping site; and inspecting the safety situation of the flood discharge system in detail; The materials needed for flood prevention and emergency rescue shall be implemented to implement emergency rescue measures; d. Timely understanding and mastering the flood conditions and weather forecasts in flood seasons to ensure reliable and smooth roads, communication, power supply and lighting routes for dumping sites and downstream debris flow intercepting dams.

(5) During the flood season, the dumping site and the downstream debris flow intercepting dam should be inspected, and problems should be repaired in time to prevent mudslides and dam accidents after continuous heavy rain;

(6) After the flood, comprehensive and serious inspection and cleaning of the dam body and the flood discharge structure shall be carried out. The problem should be fixed in time.
