It is understood that with the rapid development of regional economy in recent years, water pollution has become more and more serious. Because traditional water quality monitoring stations are expensive to build and have high maintenance costs, there are fewer monitoring sites. Can not reflect the water quality of rivers inside and outside the city. The root cause of water pollution lies in the spitting of polluting enterprises, the waste that is discarded by unscrupulous catering businesses, and the domestic wastes of residents living near rivers. Therefore, real-time online water quality monitoring of every river in the city is an effective means to solve urban water pollution. However, traditional monitoring methods are expensive, time-consuming, and unable to work online in real time.

For this purpose, Microelectronics independently developed a water quality monitoring system based on the cloud platform, installed the water quality sensor on the buoy platform, and transmitted the collected data and GPS location information of the monitoring point to the database of the cloud server in real time via GPRS. Monitoring of dissolved oxygen, pH, total phosphorus, total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, electrical conductivity, temperature and other parameters in river waters can be used to monitor water quality in urban areas, enterprises, and rivers and lakes.

According to reports, the system is powered by solar energy, with high sensor accuracy, high time resolution, strong stability, and low price. The cost of monitoring points is only one-fifth that of similar products at home and abroad. Its data is stored directly in the database of the cloud platform. It can accurately monitor a certain water area in real time and track the pollution process. It can provide data for municipal services to carry out early warning and forecast of pollution. It also allows the public to have an intuitive understanding of the surrounding water quality environment through web search or APP search.
