·The world's first public car-to-vehicle vertical collision test

At about 10:40 am on August 5th, the world's first public vehicle-to-vehicle vertical collision test was held at the Tianjin China Automotive Technology and Research Center Collision Laboratory. The test was a car-to-vehicle crash test at a 90° angle. The test vehicle was a Geely Emgrand GL model. One vehicle was driven at a speed of 50 km/h and slammed into a vertical vehicle with a speed of 16.7 km/h. The test can truly restore traffic accidents at intersections.
After the collision, Liu Yuguang, deputy chief engineer of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, conducted a preliminary inspection of the vehicle being hit. He said that the trial was successful from the overall situation of the vehicle being hit at the scene. He specifically enumerated the assessment basis of three side collisions: the integrity of the occupant structure cabin, the deformation is small, providing members with living space. The deformation of the vehicle on the scene is relatively small, and the first assessment problem is not big; the second constraint system, such as seat belts, airbags, and seats, should have the effect of protecting the occupants through synergy to minimize the damage. The airbags of the vehicle being hit by the vehicle are all open; the third point needs to meet the requirements of fire prevention, escape, and ambulance. After the collision, there is no open flame and fuel leakage. The door can be opened to enable the occupants to escape, and the outsiders can carry out ambulance. The vehicle was hit by the scene to meet these requirements, and the safety of the vehicle was basically tested.
According to Liu Yuguang, 40 or 50 sensors are installed on each of the dummy in the test vehicle, which are distributed in the head, neck, chest, large and small legs, hips, etc., and the human body is injured during the collision. Qualitative calculation. The specific degree of damage of the dummy is subject to further inspection tests and data analysis. Liu Yuguang also told reporters that the normal sitting posture of the dummy can basically determine that the damage is not very large.
The final result of this vertical crash test will be officially announced later.
It is understood that the incidence of intersection accidents ranks second in domestic traffic accidents. Data show that the side collision accident rate is 37%, the injury rate is 37%, the death rate is 25%, and property loss is 24%. Toyota's multimedia development department, Ito Boyi, also mentioned in a recent speech that in Japan, the incidence of intersection accidents accounted for about half of the total accidents. Toyota is developing V2X technology to reduce the number of accidents at intersections. Intersection assist systems will play an important role in improving driving safety and reducing accidents.
