Zhuji embroidery machine export market is cold

A few days ago, it was learned from the Zhuji Office of Shaoxing Customs that the export volume of embroidery machines in Zhuji City was significantly reduced from January to August this year. The total number of embroidery machines exported was 9,940, worth US$87.47 million, which was 47.6% and 49.2% lower than the same period of last year, respectively. India exported 7,183 units worth US$57.62 million, a decrease of 59.2% and 63.2% respectively.

According to customs statistics, since the monthly export of embroidery machines in Zhuji City reached a record high of 3,327 units in April last year, the export volume fell for nine consecutive months. After April of this year, the export volume rebounded, but it was weak and picked up. It has not exceeded the 2,000 mark. . In August this year, the city exported 1,720 units, a decrease of 14.9% year-on-year.

According to industry analysts, the major reasons for the sharp decrease in the export volume of embroidery machines in Zhuji City in the previous August were two: First, after the outbreak of the financial crisis, the Indian government adopted various preferential policies to support the development of its domestic garment industry, pulling the embroidery of the city in the first half of last year. Machine exports to India increased significantly, resulting in a higher base year-on-year; second, India's market demand has become saturated this year, coupled with the economic downturn in Vietnam and the unstable political environment in Thailand, accounting for more than half of the export share of embroidery machines. Decline in demand in Asian markets has led to a decrease in the export volume of embroidery machines in our city.

The relevant personage of Shaoxing Customs Zhuji Office suggested that the Zhuji embroidery machine industry should develop a diversified market strategy. Enterprises should “go global” to carry out after-sales service, listen to the opinions of users, increase the marketing and expansion of emerging markets, and enhance the potential for industrial development. To rely on the existing embroidery machine industry, extend the level of industrial development, increase investment in R&D of high-value-added textile machinery, including high-end embroidery machines, and break through the technological bottlenecks in the development of the industry.
