Making great efforts to develop high-end equipment, focusing on technological innovation, and accelerating the development of new energy-saving and environmental-friendly products will become the biggest highlight of China's energy equipment manufacturing industry during the “12th Five-Year Plan†period.
During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan†period, structural adjustment brought new development opportunities to enterprises, and effectively improved the competitiveness of enterprises by transforming product structure, industrial agglomeration and professional restructuring. During the "12th Five-Year Plan" period, China's oil equipment industry will continue to adhere to the strategic adjustment of the economic structure as the main direction of accelerating the transformation of economic development.
Zhao Zhiming, chief consultant of the China Petroleum and Petrochemical Equipment Industry Association, said that during the “12th Five-Year Plan†period, equipment manufacturing must rely on scientific and technological innovation to promote industrial upgrading, optimize the industrial structure, and accelerate the application of new technologies, new materials, new processes, and new equipment to upgrade the traditional Industry, improve market competitiveness. Promote the development of industry equipment manufacturing to the equipment manufacturing service industry and enhance the core competitiveness of the industry development. Judging from the development situation of the world's equipment manufacturing industry in recent years, China's equipment manufacturing industry has grown in size and is ranked first in the world. According to statistics from the national statistics agencies of China and the United States, China has surpassed the United States as the world's largest equipment manufacturing country for two consecutive years. In 2009, the total value of China's equipment manufacturing industry was 2.22 trillion U.S. dollars, and the United States was 1.52 trillion U.S. dollars. In 2010, the total value of China's equipment manufacturing industry reached 2.97 trillion U.S. dollars, compared with 1.73 trillion U.S. dollars for the same period.

Benefits have increased substantially. The number of equipment manufacturing companies has also risen to 2,023, and major economic and technical indicators such as foreign trade exports and total profits have also increased. Domestic equipment has a domestic market satisfaction rate of less than 60%, and this ratio is even lower in major technical equipment. The industry's high-end equipment and manufacturing technologies mostly rely on imports, which has become one of the major bottlenecks in the transformation and upgrading of the industry.
In order to break through this development bottleneck, China will vigorously develop high-end equipment manufacturing during the 12th Five-Year Plan period. The "Decision of the State Council on Accelerating the Cultivation and Development of Strategic Emerging Industries" suggests that China will vigorously develop strategic emerging industries such as energy conservation and environmental protection, a new generation of information technology, biology, high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy, new materials, and new energy vehicles. According to the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for High-end Equipment Manufacturing Industry Development Plan" drafted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments, it is estimated that by 2015, the annual sales value of high-end equipment manufacturing industry will be more than 6 trillion yuan. At the same time, in order to support the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industries such as marine engineering, the government may introduce tax relief support policies during the “12th Five-Year Plan†period, which all create good opportunities for the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
High-end equipment manufacturing is the high-end part of the equipment manufacturing industry. According to analysis, the main problems in China's equipment manufacturing industry currently lie in the following aspects: over-reliance on investment growth; weak independent innovation capabilities, lack of core technologies and independent brands; basic level of manufacturing lags behind, redundant construction and overcapacity in some areas; energy Low resource utilization, high product energy consumption issues.
These problems not only restricted the development of China's equipment manufacturing companies, but also restricted the rapid development of China's petroleum and petrochemical industries. During the construction of petroleum and petrochemical projects, equipment investment accounts for about 40% of the total investment. If domestic manufacturing equipment is used, it can effectively reduce construction costs and increase the competitiveness of petroleum and petrochemical enterprises. However, some high-end petroleum and petrochemical equipments still need to be imported from abroad, such as ultra-low-temperature pumps and related instrumentation equipment required by the chemical industry. At present, there is no domestic capability for large-scale manufacturing. In addition, domestic equipment needs to be improved in terms of reliability and stability. Device downtime maintenance will have a certain impact on the company's continuous production operations, and thus affect the company's production capacity and economic efficiency. Zhang Fuqin, deputy chief engineer of China National Petroleum Corporation’s Planning Institute, suggested that enterprises strengthen the integration of industrial technology and equipment with independent intellectual property rights and realize the strategy of going abroad. Integrate production, R&D, engineering design and manufacturing, and use the developed equipment directly in the project to enhance the product's practicability and pertinence. At the same time, the equipment can be tested and improved.
Although China's oil and petrochemical equipment industry still has a long way to go and face many challenges and problems that need to be resolved, experts are very confident about the development prospects of the equipment manufacturing industry.
