On June 24th, the handover ceremony for natural gas engine supply between Fiat Power Technology (FPT) and Beijing Bus Group was held at the Italian Embassy in China. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the cooperation between the two parties, Fiat Power Technologies once again provided Beijing Public Transport Group with nearly 1,200 environmentally-friendly natural gas engines, and continued to work together to create a green capital on the ten-year-long road.
At the handover ceremony, the Italian Embassy brought together products from Fiat Power Technology and Fiat Industries Group - Fiat Power Technology Engine, Iveco Commercial Vehicle and New Holland Construction Machinery. This marks another milestone for the cooperation between the two parties.
The successful loading of more than 300 Cursor8 and more than 800 NEF6 natural gas engines will be applied to the Beijing public bus, articulated vehicle and double decker vehicle, which will replace 60,000 private car emissions. Among them, the Cursor8 natural gas engine adopts an in-line six-cylinder layout, with 7.8 liters of displacement, output power and torque reaching 213kW and 1300Nm, respectively. Thanks to its leading technology and outstanding performance, these buses are operating in the city center of Beijing. Like the Cursor8 engine, the NEF6 natural gas engine is a perfect example of Fiat PowerScience's lean design and superior technology. This natural gas engine also has an inline six-cylinder layout with a displacement of 5.9 litres, a peak power of 147 kW and a maximum torque of 650 Nm. The two engines use a multi-point injection system to ensure accurate fuel injection and stable in-cylinder combustion, ensuring good performance.
