On the anniversary of the Wenchuan Earthquake on May 12, 2009, the project officially laid the foundation for the Mianyang Hi-tech Development Zone. The project plans to invest a total of 300 million yuan in the first phase of investment of 200 million yuan. After more than five months of construction, trial production began at the end of 2009 and nearly 300 local laborers were employed.
In the first quarter of this year, the company received more than 500 orders and sold more than 200 units. Mianyang Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd. plans to produce and sell 3,000 heavy-duty special-purpose vehicles in 2010, achieving a sales income of 900 million yuan. It is expected that by 2012, it will form an annual production capacity of 10,000 special vehicles and a sales revenue of 3 billion yuan.
In May 2008, after the Wenchuan earthquake, China National Heavy Duty Truck Group promptly took action and actively organized disaster relief activities. It donated more than 20 million yuan worth of cash and vehicles to support disaster relief, and sent a staff volunteer team to support the affected areas.
Ma Chunji said that the special car project in Mianyang reflects the continued and deepening of China’s heavy-duty trucks supporting the earthquake-stricken areas in Sichuan. During the implementation of the project, relevant leaders of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government repeatedly intervened and the relevant departments gave specific guidance. The leaders of Sichuan Province and Mianyang City gave strong support to ensure that the project was put into production on schedule.
