A few days ago, in the eyes of everyone, a cold zone test vehicle and a service vehicle equipped with the Tanggula engine came to the door of Dongfeng Cummins Corporation's eastern district and successfully completed the long cold zone trial trip.
Dongfeng Cummins "Tangula" engine cold zone triumph
It is understood that the first prototype of the Dongfeng Cummins Tangula Project was successfully ignited on October 12, 2010. The model is a 3.9-liter four-cylinder electronically controlled engine that supports Euro IV emissions. It matches the Japanese electric fuel system and is powered by Cummins. New platform control module developed cooperatively in Germany Mainland. After a series of work such as bench tests, tests, and reliability tests were conducted in the early stage, the Tanggura engine cold area test was started as planned on schedule after full preparation. The cold area test was started on December 15th. The cold zone test team consisted of product developers of Dongfeng Cummins, EAR&D, CES and test engineers from the product research and development institute of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. The test team will start from Xiangyang and pass through the cities of Anhui, Shenyang, Harbin, etc., and cross the provinces of Henan, Hebei, Liaoning, etc., and eventually reach the Heihe Experimental Base. The test road was about 7000 kilometers long and lasted for more than 40 days. It returned to Fuyang in mid-January of 2012. This test mainly verified the overall performance of the engine, including the electronic control system, the fuel system, and the post-processing device under severe cold conditions, and comprehensively examined the cold zone performance, vehicle compatibility, and driving performance in the cold region.
"Tangula" engine after passing this cold area test symbolizes that all environmental adaptability tests have been successfully completed and will soon enter a new phase of product development.
