With the expansion of the information system, the data center equipment room can not meet the demand in terms of area and supporting infrastructure. In response to this situation, most power supply bureaus chose to rebuild the equipment room. How to migrate servers, storage, network and other devices to the new computer room is a more difficult problem.
Through analysis, it is found that there are two difficulties in the relocation of the equipment room. First, the risk of relocation is high. Many equipments have already passed the warranty period and are relatively old. Therefore, the protection of equipment safety and data security is particularly important. Second, it has a greater impact on users. The migration of the equipment room has a great impact on the development of business work, and even the business interruption of the entire unit, leading to serious consequences. Therefore, before the relocation, we must do a lot of preparatory work, formulate a careful relocation plan, provide corresponding preventive measures and remedial measures, and try to ensure the safety of data and application systems.
1. What is the relocation plan?
In order to minimize the impact of relocation on the application system, online relocation can be adopted, that is, a smooth network transition environment is established, data storage is taken as the core, the stability and continuity of the network and application system are guaranteed, and the system operation is shortened as much as possible. Interruption time. The relocation plan includes the following aspects:
(1) Equipment relocation plan, the main contents are the relocation equipment statistics, relocation supporting equipment, relocation schedule and personnel arrangement, and the location plan of the equipment after relocation.
(2) Network cutover solution, including network cutover process and network topology changes before and after cutover.
(3) System and data backup solutions, including backup methods and time.
(4) Emergency solutions, including hardware failures, operating system failures, database and application system failures, storage devices, and data failure emergency plans.
In the plan, first determine the list of equipment to be relocated and classify the equipment; secondly, arrange the equipment according to the system and arrange a reasonable relocation order. The core system can be relocated on weekends or on weekdays, and non-core systems can be relocated on weekdays. For a dual-machine running device, you can move the host system to the new computer room after the standby system is relocated, debugged, and operated normally.
2. Relocation steps
Before the relocation, a notice will be made to release the downtime arrangements for the relocation process, and then a contact method will be provided to coordinate the relocation of various professions.
(1) Information release: The information department will release information in advance to inform the specific relocation time plan.
(2) Network interconnection: determine the fiber-optic line connection between the new data center computer room and the old computer room.
(3) Check the environmental conditions and availability of the equipment room: Check the conditions for the normal operation of the air conditioning, power supply, fire protection, and integrated wiring of the new equipment room, and conduct network connectivity testing to ensure the availability of the network.
(4) The application administrator checks to see if the application is running normally, and the host administrator checks to see if the host is running normally.
(5) Data backup: Before the relocation, make a backup of the system.
(6) Confirm that the relocation equipment is in place.
(7) Confirm the operational support provided by the relevant manufacturers of key business systems.
(8) The application administrator exits the application, the host administrator stops the host, and then the relocation group performs the disassembly, cleaning, relocation, racking, and network/KVM access of the host. The equipment should be protected during the equipment relocation process. Collision, dust prevention, waterproofing, etc. At the same time, the equipment must be installed and wired in strict accordance with the equipment layout drawing and the wiring diagram on the back of the equipment.
(9) The host administrator powers on the device and performs host testing, and the application administrator is responsible for application testing.
(10) After the equipment is in normal operation, each relocation group shall update the identification of the equipment and the connection line in time.
It is recommended that personnel changes and system relocation be carried out in phases. That is, the staff is working in the new building, the system is in the old building, and after the staff is stable, the system is gradually moved.
3, the preliminary preparation should be solid
In order to reduce errors and smooth migration, you need to complete the following tasks before moving.
(1) Check if the environment (power supply, furniture, network, etc.) of the new building office area is available. Check whether the data center equipment room environment (decoration, power supply, grounding, lightning protection, integrated wiring, temperature and humidity).
(2) The fiber-optic network between the new building and the old building is securely connected, and the new building is connected to the IDC data center network of the old building with at least 2 pairs of optical fibers.
(3) Complete the equipment to relocate and change the corresponding configuration according to the requirements of LAN, MAN and IDC internal network construction, so as to realize the construction of the new building LAN and realize the networking with the metropolitan area network. Realize the construction of the data center network of the new building and realize the networking with the metropolitan area network.
(4) Develop a new computer room server layout table. Before the relocation, detailed layout of the cabinets, equipment connection diagrams and physical connection diagrams after equipment relocation should be provided to ensure the scientific order of relocation.
(5) Each system administrator needs to prepare for the system emergency plan and implement whether to contact the system manufacturer to assist the system to relocate according to the system situation, so as to ensure timely and proper handling of security events that may be caused by equipment relocation.
4, matters needing attention
(1) Before the relocation, the new equipment room should be tested for fiber and twisted pair. Whether the server rails of the old equipment room are consistent with the cabinets of the new equipment room must be confirmed in advance.
(2) The operation and equipment shutdown, start-up and other operations must be carried out in strict accordance with the on-site operating procedures; all types of equipment have clear test methods; ready to use the application software, including middleware, database, application software, etc. Prepare and archive in advance.
(3) Data backup Before the system is migrated, if necessary, the operating system backup (tape backup) of important systems must be done to ensure the integrity and correctness of the data.
(4) Equipment label During the relocation process, pay attention to the protection of the label to prevent the label from falling off, especially the small parts and screws of the server, and make labels when disassembling, so as not to affect the subsequent reorganization.
(5) After the equipment is shut down and the power is cut off, it is necessary to wait until the internal parts of the equipment are fully discharged before demolition can be carried out to minimize the possibility of damage to the original parts during the system relocation process.
(6) Responsibility to the person, the transportation of equipment must be registered and transported by a special person.
(7) Relocation personnel should wear static-dissipating gloves, and try to be as light as possible during the relocation process to avoid collisions; package and relocate outside the new and old equipment rooms.
(8) The vehicle used for relocation should pass the annual inspection and have the relevant safety certificate. The driver should have a driver's license and have the driving experience of relocating the vehicle. The driver's mental state is good before the relocation of the vehicle.
(9) After the equipment is moved, the network and storage access must be made according to the original access conditions to ensure that the connection mode and operating environment of each system equipment remain unchanged.
(10) Relocation related personnel must have a centralized office for office use during the relocation period. In the case of a long problem during the relocation process, shift work is required to ensure sufficient energy and strength.
5, response measures
In the process of relocation, it is easy to cause three aspects of hardware damage, personnel injury, application failure, etc., at least the following measures should be taken for them.
(1) Pay attention to the physical condition and mental state of the staff. If the work requirements are not met, appropriate personnel should be arranged to replace them.
(2) Relocation, demolition, and installation of equipment should be handled lightly and gently, and a safety guardian should be responsible for the whole process of guiding and monitoring.
(3) Reinforce the equipment with wrapping paper, sponge and other items before transportation. The transportation route should be smoother.
(4) Use UPS output power to perform equipment commissioning, operation, etc. The workplace should use electricity safely. Safety and qualified tools should be used to regulate operation and prevent accidental contact with live equipment.
(5) Prepare system restart operation instructions and system failure emergency operation tickets, and actually test the feasibility of the operation before relocation to ensure timely and proper handling of safety events that may be caused by equipment relocation.
(6) Before relocating equipment, check whether the Fibre Channel between the old and new buildings can communicate normally; restart the original building computer room server, check whether the server node status and application status of the original building computer room are normal, real-time data, real-time alarm data, database read/write function, etc. Normal, whether the operating system is normal, disk space and disk files can be read and written normally; backup of important data and network configuration, so that configuration or data can be restored in time.
(7) When the system fails to start, gradually troubleshoot the fault from the application software, operating system, network configuration, hardware equipment, etc. Arrange small computer operating systems, Oracle database manufacturers on-site duty, to deal with unexpected problems.
