| The fifth meeting of the Automotive Working Group under the China-EU Industrial Dialogue Consultation Mechanism was held in Beijing on the afternoon of March 7, 2014. The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Wang Fuchang, Inspector of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Mr. Philippe Jean, Director General of the European Union Enterprise and Industry. The meeting introduced and shared the recent situation of the automotive industry and future market forecasts. The Chinese side introduced the latest policies of China's energy-saving and new-energy vehicles. The EU introduced the latest EU policy measures. The European side introduced the reform progress and trends of the 1958 Agreement under the framework of the World Vehicle Regulatory Coordination Forum (WP29), and the Global Light Vehicle Unified Test Procedure (WLTP) under the 1998 Agreement; In 1998, the agreement on electric vehicle safety (EVS), electric vehicle and environment (EVE) was deeply exchanged. The meeting also reviewed the content and results of the just-concluded China-European automotive light vehicle energy standards and regulations, global light vehicle test procedures, and electric vehicle and power battery safety evaluation technology seminars. The two sides agreed that the China-Europe Automotive Working Group has established a good communication platform for both the government and the automotive industry to address the long-term and realistic problems of automobile development. The cooperation between the two sides has continued to deepen; the technical seminars under the China-Europe Automotive Working Group mechanism are Enterprises and technical experts have provided a good communication platform. The content of the seminar reflects the outstanding problems facing the development of the industry. The exchanges and discussions are continuously refined and deepened. The two sides agreed to make full use of the platform and continue to carry out in-depth exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in the automotive field to promote the health of the automotive industry. |
