Valeo's revenue increased by 22% in China in the first half year China contributed 30% of orders

According to the “American Auto News” news, French component manufacturer Valeo recently stated that in the first half of 2013, revenue in China grew by 22%, and sales from Chinese domestic automakers increased by 11% year-on-year.

In the first half of the year, Valeo's sales in China reached 590 million euros, a 22% increase over the same period last year. The company emphasized that orders from the Chinese market in the first six months accounted for 29% of its global orders. In 2012, Valeo's revenue in China reached RMB 10 billion, which contributed 10% of the company's global revenue.

In the first half of 2013, Valeo's overall operating income reached 6.17 billion euros, an increase of 2.8% from the same period of last year, and sales to vehicle manufacturers totaled 5.25 billion euros, an increase of 2.6% from the same period last year.

Valeo currently has 22 factories in China, producing powertrain components and driver assistance systems. The company expects to double its revenue in China in 2015 compared with 2011.
